About

Local Current Affairs explains the issues and decisions that shape places and the people who live in them. We are for readers who want more than a headline but do not need a flood of jargon to understand what is at stake.

What we cover

We explore local decisions, services, shared places, community concerns and the histories behind present-day questions. Coverage is evergreen where possible: useful context should still make sense after the immediate news cycle has passed.

How we approach a story

We separate what is known from what is uncertain, explain unfamiliar terms and show how a topic affects ordinary local life. We avoid pretending that one place, group or experience speaks for every community.

Who it is for

The publication is for curious residents, newcomers and anyone trying to understand how a place works. Our aim is to help readers ask sharper questions, not to tell them what position to take.
